Located in the Yampa Valley west of Steamboat Springs, Elkhead Reservoir and the Headquarters on the Yampa River offer visitors a wonderful area to enjoy Colorado's outdoors. The 172-mile stretch of the Yampa River borders private property. Everyone is encouraged to use only the eight public access sites and respect the private property owners along the river.
