Scheduled to open in 2002, the Imperial War Museum - North will be the fifth branch of the Imperial War Museum. It will be housed in a new building on the banks of the Manchester Ship Canal at Trafford, the first building created in Britain by the noted architect Daniel Libekind. It will offer thought-provoking displays that will demonstrate the awesome impact of war since 1914.
