Crescent City is located in Putnam County south of Jacksonville between Palatka and Deland along US Highway 17 near Lake George and on the banks of Cresent Lake.
Crescent City is a peaceful little city of homes with her streets lined with massive oaks from which hangs the lacy-like Spanish Moss in great profusion. Fruit trees, shrubs, flowers and birds enhance this city.
First settled in 1852, there is evidence of people living here prior to that time. The community lies in the heart of what was known as the "Old Oliver Plantation", a tract of land embracing about 1,800 acres. Original settlers included families of northern military men who came here to seek a new life, new hope and prosperity.
