Contains the adjacent winter homes of two of America's most famous neighbors, early 20th-century industrialists Henry Ford and Thomas Edison. Ford's estate, 'Mangoes,' has been restored & furnished in the 1920s style; it includes grounds and a garage housing three of Ford's 'Tin Lizzies' in operating condition. Edison's winter home, 'Seminole Lodge,' features a 14-acre tropical garden, Edison's laboratory and workshops, and a museum that is highlighted by the world's largest collection of his inventions and other memorabilia. Visitors can also see the largest banyan tree in Florida,- a 1925 gift from Harvey Firestone. Extensive estate tours are offered daily and include a guided walking tour of the Edison and Ford estates, botanical gardens, Edison's laboratory, and a self-guided tour through the artifact museum; last tour leaves promptly at 4pm. Open year-round.
