Established in 1977, Fannin Regional Hospital is a general medical/surgical 34-bed, acute care facility, including a five-bed intensive/coronary unit and new three-bed birthing center. FRH serves the residents of Fannin County, as well as Gilmer and Union counties, Polk County, and Tennessee and Cherokee counties in North Carolina. Fannin Regional has a primary and secondary service area of more than 60,000 residents. Fannin Regional Hospital is Medicare/Medicaid certified and is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. Medical specialties on the staff include: family practice, internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics, general and orthopedic surgery, and radiology.
