This horseshoe-shaped bay is a sunken crater. It is located along the Kalanianaole Hwy on the southeast tip of Oahu Island. Coral reefs across the neck of the bay are perfect for protected snorkeling and the beach is often crowded.

Facilities include changing rooms and showers. There are food concessions and snorkeling equipment rentals. The sandy beach is ringed by coconut palms and a shuttle carries people up and down the steep entrance to the beach.

There is an overlook just off the highway above the beach, where the reefs are perfectly visible in the the limpid waters. The bay is a designated marine preserve.

Attractions include the Toilet Bowl, a natural pool in lava rock, Witches Brew, a rocky point and Halona Blowhole.
