Hauula is located in Honolulu County on the northeastern coast of Oahu Island, between Laie and Kaaawa along Highway 83 near Kalaipaloa Point, Hauula Beach Park, and the Hauula Forest Reserve.
There is a coral reef approximately a quarter of a mile off shore, perfect for swimming and diving. The long shallow area before you reach the deep water is a nice place for children to swim. Fishing is popular in the area, and you can watch locals catch lobster and squid right off the reef. Other activities include kayaking, horseback riding, and hiking trails in the Hauula Loop Trail, the Koolau Mountains and Sacred Falls State Park.
Hauula is part of the Honolulu, Hawaii metro area.
