This Heiau was restored by the Bishop Museum and Kauai Historical Society. Human sacrifices were made on the stone in the southwest corner.

Outside the Heiau are the Royal Birthstones where women of royal blood were required to remain before giving birth in order to provide for the child's royal status. It is open daily 24 hours.

It is located just west of the junction with Kuhio Hwy (Rt 56) Hwy 56.
