The Kalalau Lookout is four miles beyond the end of the Kuhio Hwy (Rt 56) in Haena, where the Kalalau Trail begins. It is the only land route to the isolated Na Pali Coast. The entire 11 mile trail takes one day to walk one way.
Camping is permitted, call for info. The Kalalau Lookout overlooks the Kalalau Valley and Pacific Ocean 4,000 feet below. Picknicking is permitted. Two small stone figures on a ridge overlooking the valley are said to be demigods turned to stone.
