This is one of two major international airports on the Big Island (the other is Hilo International Airport). It is on the western side of the island, serving Keauhou, Kailua Kona and the Kohala Coast.
Seven miles from Kailua Kona, the resort area on the western side. The Keauhou resort area is six miles to the south beyond Kailua. Resorts on the Kona-Kohala Coast to the north require 30-45 minutes driving time from the airport.
Hawaiian and United Airlines provide daily service from the mainland, with stops in Honolulu and Maui Island. Flying time from the US West Coast to Honolulu is about 4.5 hours. Visitor info line is 808-329-3423.
