This botanical garden is located near Hilo off Hwy 11. They have 62 acres of orchids and other tropical blooms that can be purchased and shipped home. Self guided tours are offered during daily hours of 7am to 3:30pm. Many varieties of anthuriums are grown here, from the obake, which is green-white, to the beefsteak, which is a deep red. The longstemmed anthuriums are prized for their long shelf life after being cut.
