Pella Regional Health Center first opened in 1960 as Pella Community Hospital. It was a 30-bed facility to provide hospitalization for the acutely ill. In the years since, the hospital has changed to serve the needs of Pella and the surrounding communities.
In 1996, the hospital merged with Pella Medical Clinic to become Pella Regional Health Center. Satellite family health centers were opened in the neighboring communities of Bussey, Monroe and Sully.
