Lucas County Health Center is a rural family-centered hospital woven into the rich tapestry of the Lucas County countryside. Born of a community wide initiative to expand healthcare services, Lucas County Health Center has pursued a mission of caring and a commitment to providing services for the people of Lucas County.
Located in Chariton, Iowa, LCHC provides medical attention 24 hours a day. However, the services extend well beyond emergency care. The health center has 5 family physicians, two physician assistants, and a nurse practitioner on staff as well as specialty clinics which utilize the expertise of out-of-town doctors who see patients locally.
LCHC serves as the area's health resource by providing an in-house surgical unit, obstetrics, physical therapy and rehabilitation, and a wide rage of radiological procedures including cat scans, ultrasounds, and mammographies.
