This museum features the history of the Appaloosa horse, noted for its spotted markings. Regalia and artifacts used with the Appaloosa are on display, including Native American items. The Nez Perce Indians practiced selective breeding and built vast herds of excellent horses, including Appaloosas. Live Appaloosas graze behind the museum during summer months.

There is a small gift shop. Special tours are by appointment. The museum is located on the Moscow/Pullman Highway at the state line.
