Dedicated to preserving the history of Clearwater County, and Clearwater River Drainage the museum displays more than 4000 old pictures and artifacts which tell the history. Exhibits feature the history of the Nez Perce Indians.

Gold brought folks into this area in 1860, Orofino was platted in 1898 and the railroad came to Orofino in 1899. Orofino had a large RR camp here of about 1000 men. Then logging became an important industry. The museum also displays Chinese miners artifacts and logging artifacts. Tours are available upon request.

June thru September, Tuesday thru Saturday, 12:30 to 5:30
October thru May, Tuesday thru Saturday, 1:30 to 4:30
