Balmoral Woods is located in northeastern Illinois in the northeastern corner of Will County just across the Cook County line. The course earned a 4.5-star rating by Chicagoland Golf Newspaper and a 4-star rating from Golf Digest Magazine.The 18-hole, par 72, 6,700-yard, 280-acre course was first opened in 1975 and has a slope of 128 and a rating of 72.6 from the back tees. Men's Blue tees measure 6,350 yards and are rated at 70.6 with a 125 slope while the White tees cover 6,000 yards and have numbers of 69.1 and 122. Ladies play a 5,000-yard course rated at 64.5 with a slope of 110.
