Chalet Hills is a public 18-hole course located in northeastern Illinois in McHenry County. Independent golf course rating publications show the course earning a "Top 5 in the state" from Zagat/ESPN and 4 stars from Golf Digest. The course pars out at a rare 73 covering 6,900 yards with a rating of 73.4 and 131 slope from the black tees. The blue tees measure 6,600 yards with numbers of 71.9 and 129 while the white tees cover 6,000 yards with a 68.5/117 combo. The gold tees can be played by juniors and have numbers of 4,950/64.1/101. Ladies who choose to play the whites face a 74.1/129 challenge while the golds rate 68.1/114. This scenic course features scores of mature deciduous trees and is dotted by several ponds and a lake that is the centerpiece for the front and back finishing holes. In addition, the 17th is a picturesque island hole.
