Search Robinson Illinois

Robinson is located in southeastern Illinois in Crawford County (of which it is the county seat) southeast of Mattoon between Marshall and Lawrenceville along Highway 33 about 10 miles west of the Wabash River. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 6,394, a decrease of 346 since 1990.

Golfers will want to challenge Quail Creek Country Club. The course at one time was a regular stop on the PGA tour (from 1966 to 1974) and Robinson has the distiction of being the smallest town ever to host such an event. Golf Hall-of-Famer Lee Trevino once remarked "I have played all over the world and Quail Creek is one of the most enjoyable courses I have ever played."

The town is home to Lincoln Trail College, a community college serving the area's continuing education needs.
