Search Lemont Illinois

Ruffled Feathers is a Pete Dye-designed 18-hole, par 72, 6,900-yard, semiprivate course located in southern Cook County. From the back tees, the men face a course rated at 74.1 with a steep 140 slope. The middle tees play 6,400 yards long and rate out at 71.8 and 134 while the White tees have numbers of 6,000/71.7/129. Ladies face their own daunting challenge in a 6,000-yard course rated at 74.1 with an eye-popping slope of 131.

The course opened in 1991 and was promptly judged to be one of the best new courses in the country by Golf Digest in 1992. It also ranks No. 23 on the magazine's list of the "Best Courses in the State" (2000). Only six other public courses in Illinois are higher rated.

Water is a factor on 12 holes and the course plays a bit tougher with its 114 bunkers to navigate. The signature hole is the par 3 11th--a peninsula green demanding the right club selection.

Until recently they were home to the Illinois PGA.
