Rushville is located western Illinois in Schuyler County (of which it is the county seat) about 25 miles south-southeast of Macomb, 50 miles west-northwest of Springfield and 10 miles west of the Illinois River and Crane Lake at the junction of U.S. Highways 67 and 24. The population estimate for 2000 was about 3,200. For golfers, the town offers Scripps Park Golf Club. Other nearby outdoor recreation includes the Sanganois Conservation Area about 15 miles to the east and Siloam Springs State Park 25 miles southwest of town.
