Nashville is located in Brown County (of which it is the county seat) about halfway between Bloomington and Columbus at the junction of State Highways 46 and 135. Indiana University and Monroe Lake are nearby. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 956, an increase of 83 since 1990.
