Founded: 1884. Population: 716 (1990); 636 (2000). Elevation: 1453 feet. An incorporated city in western Harper County. The name Attica refers to the region of ancient Greece that contained Athens. Attica has an unusually nice park with rest rooms on the east side of town. Overnight camping is permitted. A visit to the local cemetary, with interesting headstones from Civil War Veterans, causes pause to reflect upon America's present and future.
