Population (year 2000): 1,244, Elevation: 2700 feet. Hoxie is located in the Northwest Region of the state, in the center of Sheridan County. The town was named for a vice president of the railroad when the Union Pacific decided to come through Sheridan County. Hoxie is at the intersection of KS State Hwy-24 and County Road 23.
