Located at the intersection of George Washington Boulevard and 31st Street South, adjacent to McConnell Air Force Base, near the West Gate Entrance to the Base.
listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the building was begun in 1929 and dedicated in 1935. Hailed at the time as one of the outstanding buildings in the U.S., the Art Deco structure with its abundance of aviation related motifs has garnered praise from around the world.
The Kansas Aviation Museum building contains a wealth of artifacts and collections as both research resources and displays for public enjoyment. The KAM archives include artifacts and collections maintained in three large work and storage rooms not usually open to the public.
This Fall promises to be a busy and exciting time at the Kansas Aviation Museum.
