The Kansas State Historical Society provides a wide range of venues from history to art to genealogy research. Primarily located in Topeka, there are historical sites located across the state. Group tours of historical sites are available.

The museum has award-winning exhibits and a store. Other services are; Free parking & picnic areas, ADA accessible, Wheelchairs/strollers available and a Snack bar.

Discover voices from Kansas' past at the Center for Historical Research. The Center's research collections contain more than 5 miles of printed materials, over 7 miles of Kansas government archives and manuscript materials, 25,000 maps, approximately 500,000 photographs, and over 50,000 reels of microfilm.

Heart of America Shakespeare Festival Kansas City MO June18-July7 The Heart of America Shakespeare Festival is set under the stars in South Moreland Park near Nelson Atkins Museum of Art. It is a perfect way to spend a summer evening with family and friends. They have several programs to study and explore such as Speaker's Bureau and Poster and Sonnet Contest. The faculty includes theatre professionals, actors, and educators experienced in performing and teaching Shakespeare. Many of the instructors are veterans of festival productions.
