On the N fork of the Solomon River. Highway KS-9 connects Logan with the outdoor recreational facilities at the Kirwin National Wildlife Refuge.
Downtown Logan's main feature is the tastefully landscaped plaza of the Dane G. Hansen Memorial Museum complex. Shady streets and congienial people generate a pleasant, small town atmosphere that visitors and residants thoroughly enjoy.
Settled in 1870, Logan was named after John Alexander Logan, a Civil War officer. Logan's early history is a slice of Americana with stories of greenhorn settlers who came to hunt buffalo or homestead land.
Logan has a big festival to celebrate Labor Day with live music, fireworks, and a car show. Logan's Arts & Crafts Fair is the third Saturday in September. Over 100 artists and craftsmen gather on the Plaza lawn.
