Located just a few miles north of Kansas State University and Manhattan, the park is located on the banks of the state's second largest lake, Tuttle Creek Reservoir. Four areas, River Pond, Spillway, Fancy Creek, and Randolph make up the 1,160 acre park. The lake encompasses 15,800 acres, and the wildlife area encompasses 12,200 acres. The park offers 104 electrical and water campsites, as well as primitive camping. Swimming beaches, fishing docks, boat ramps, courtesy docks, dump stations, and hiking trails make for a great outdoor experience. Canoe and paddleboat rentals are available, and the park has over 16 miles of hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails.

Heart of America Shakespeare Festival Kansas City MO June18-July7 The Heart of America Shakespeare Festival is set under the stars in South Moreland Park near Nelson Atkins Museum of Art. It is a perfect way to spend a summer evening with family and friends. They have several programs to study and explore such as Speaker's Bureau and Poster and Sonnet Contest. The faculty includes theatre professionals, actors, and educators experienced in performing and teaching Shakespeare. Many of the instructors are veterans of festival productions.
