Berea Hospital began in 1898 in the eight-bed, double cottage on the Berea College campus. Later, a building was constructed comprising eight rooms, plus a three room annex for contagious diseases, which became known as Morningside Cottage. This site is now occupied by the Seabury Dorm on the Berea College campus. Now, a 110-bed community-owned facility on Estill St., with a full array of inpatient and outpatient service, Berea Hospital provides healthcare to residents in the areas of Madison, Jackson, Rockcastle, and Garrad counties.
