Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center is a 72-bed primary care hospital, accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. They serve a population base of more than 45,000 people from five counties. Their hospital includes Medical, Medical/Surgical and Special Care Units, along with Obstetrical, Surgery, Emergency Services, Radiology, Cardiology Lab, Pharmacy, Respiratory Therapy, Physical Therapy and Laboratory Departments, with In-Patient and Out-Patient services. Their modern facility, constructed in 1983 and expanded in 1994, continues an 80-year tradition of quality health care begun in 1920 by their predecessor, Paintsville Hospital. Recent additions of Bone Densitometry and Neurological Radiology have added significantly to the diagnostic capabilities available to their patients and physicians which include spiral CAT scans, MRI, mammography, brain and heart SPECT imaging, tomography, sonography and arthrograms.
