The circa 1804 log meetinghouse is reputed to be the oldest of its kind in the state, and the oldest church in southern Kentucky. One of the largest denominations of the Christian religion in history was organized at this historic meeting place, originally called the Mill Creek Baptist Church. The 12 corners of the church are regarded as representative of the 12 Apostles and its three doors, the Trinity; construction is of half-hewn logs and chinked and daubed walls. Daniel Boone's sister Hannah is buried in the churchyard, as are some pioneers and soldiers of the Revolutionary War. Picnicking is permitted. The 60-acre site includes a picnic Open daily, the meetinghouse and grounds can be visited free of charge.
