Created in 1924, Pine Mountain State Resort Park is the first Kentucky State Park. A 30 room lodge and 11 cottages are availabe to visitors as well as a 36-site primitive campground. A natural forest cove has been transformed into an amphitheater with seating for 2,000 and is the site of the Mountain Laurel Festival, held the last weekend in May.
