You'll find one of the most popular fishing areas and a unique combination of natural resources in Louisiana's largest and most visited state park. The park covers over 6,000 acres of rolling hills and water in South Central Louisiana and encloses a fish-rich 2,000-acre reservoir. Mature hardwood uplands and beech-magnolis forests are complemented by a forested lake of cypress-tupelo trees.

Picnicking, swimming in the Olympic-sized pool, hiking, bicycling and birding are popular activities. Chicot's facilities are divided into three areas that include 200 improved campsites, backpacking camps, primitive group campsites, 27 vacation cabins, three lodges, nature/hiking/backpacking trails encircling the lake and playground.
