Founded in 1876, the Appalachian Mountain Club is America's oldest conservation and recreation organization, with a membership some 90,000 strong. They fulfill their mission through conservation, recreation, and education. Their education initiatives include classes and outreach, naturalist programs, outdoor skills lectures, and more. They maintain a number of campgrounds and nature preserves; members receive discounts on admissions fees.
