The main buildings in the BHS museum complex, or Heritage Center, consist of a Shoe Museum, a Fire Museum, and an early Brockton shoemaker's home called "The Homestead." The complex also features exhibits on Thomas Edison - who electrified the first shoe factory in the world in Brockton in 1883 - and Rocky Marciano, a former local shoeworker and the only undefeated heavyweight boxer.
