Manitoba's leading Museum has nine museum galleries exploring the province's peoples, history & geography, as well as a planetarium and a science gallery. The Nonsuch Gallery features a full-sized replica of the ship whose voyage spurred the founding of the Hudson's Bay Company. The Nonsuch Gallery alone and The Museum as a whole each earned the Michelin Guide's highest rating. The HBC Gallery features an incredible collection of artifacts, including the last York Boat to ever haul cargo for the historic company. Other galleries feature a working theatre from the 1920's in the Urban Gallery, an examination of the lives of aboriginals including Cree Indians and Metis and much more.
The Science Gallery features over 100 hands-on exhibits for children and the Planetarium is one of only five in Canada. It offers multimedia shows and a special live show at 9pm on Saturday Nights that mixes live music and weekly science news.
