In St. Mary's County, St. Inigoes lies just outside of St. Mary's City, on Hwy 5.
Dedicated in 1976, Coast Guard Station St. Inigoes is located at the Webster Field Annex of Naval Air Station Patuxent River, nearby. Nestled in the upper corner of the St. Mary's River, Station St. Inigoes is responsible for the waters and the tributaries along the lower Potomac River and part of Chesapeake Bay. The station is one of five under the control of Coast Guard Activities Baltimore, which is responsible for all Coast Guard operations in the Potomac River, middle and upper Chesapeake Bay, and the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal.
Station St Inigoes' main missions are search and rescue (SAR), enforcement of laws and treaties (ELT), marine environmental protection (MEP), and recreational boating safety (RBS).
