Get away from it all canoe-camping in the north woods of Maine and eastern Canada! Let Allagash Canoe Trips teach you how to travel gracefully and efficiently using your own power, following canoe routes used by northwoods natives for thousands of years. Listen to the haunting call of the loon, coyote songs at night, and enjoy frequent encounters with moose, deer, bald eagles and osprey. Trips begin each year in mid-May. Trips on the Allagash and West Branch Penobscot Rivers are suitable for novice to intermediate paddlers and ideal for families and friends. Canadian expeditions are geared toward more experienced canoeists with some whitewater skills who seek a physical and mental challenge. Most of their trips are five to seven days in length.
