Corunna is in Shiawassee County, and in the Central Region (of which it is the county seat). Corunna is located on Hwy 71 and southeast of Owosso. It became the county seat in 1840 and eventually incorporated as a village in 1869. This town was originally settled in the early 1840s by a group of businessmen called the Shiawassee County Seat Company.
