Harbor Beach is in Huron County, and in the Central Region. This community is located at the junction of Hwy 25 and Hwy 142, and west from Bad Axe overlooking Lake Huron. Harbor Beach was named Sand Beach originally, but was changed because of the impression that the city was nothing but sand. The town is known as the world's largest man-made fresh water harbor and has a new fishing pier that is handicap accessible. The new marina provides transport services services into the downtown area.
