Jonesville is in Hillsdale County, and in the Central Region. This community is located at the junction of state Hwy's 99, 34 and US Hwy 12. Jonesville was the first city to be settled and officially registered in Hillsdale County in 1828, when Beniah Jones from Painsville, Ohio traveled here. It received a station on the Michigan Southern Railroad in 1841 and was organized as a village in 1855. Today, Jonesville is supported by a strong economic base including many small businesses, services, and industries. Manufacturing includes plastics, auto parts and tooling.
