Located on Grand Blvd., the Motown sound of the early 1960s originated in this old brick house that houses the museum. Such entertainers as Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, Dianan Ross and the Supremes and Stevie Wonder got their starts here under the direction of Motown Records found Berry Gordy Jr. The renovated galleries contain a variety of musical instruments, photographs, artifacts and the original Studio A and control room. Open Tuesday through Saturday 10am-5pm, Sunday and Monday noon-5pm; otherwise by appointment.
