Rochester is in Oakland County, and in the Southeast Region. This community is located just north of Detroit between Pontiac and Port Huron along Highway 24 near Anchor Bay and Lake St Clair. Home of the Oakland University campus.

Rochester is part of the Detroit, Michigan metro area.

Rochester was first settled by James Graham and his family, from Mt. Clemens in 1817. Most of the early pioneer in this area were originally from Rochester, N.Y., which the town was named after.
