The 140,000-sq-ft Chaska Community Center, built as a 'family gathering place' and opened to the public in 1989, has been recognized nationally by Athletic Business Magazine as one of the 10 best community centers in the nation. The building has been nationally recognized for its architecture and for operating at a profit with no cost to Chaska taxpayers, and is one of the top 20 attractions in the state of Minnesota based on people visiting per month. Expansion projects have added components that include a theatre, a second sheet of ice and a rehabilitation and athletic performance center. Admission to the lower level of the Community Center requires a membership card or payment of a daily fee; daily fee includes use of the pool areas and gymnasium during open activities, conditioning and strength equipment, and locker rooms. A separate fee is charged in the arena during Open Skating. Open 7 days a week, shorter hours on Sunday.
