In the Historic Prairies Region, Wells is located in Faribault County. It sits just above I-90 on Hwy 109 near Minnesota Lake. Founded in the late 1800s, Wells was a regional rail and grain-shipping center, but the Wells area has also been home to many well-known bands and orchestras, including the many groups led by Harry Gillam.
