In January of 1978, the doors of Lake Regional Hospital, then known as Lake of the Ozarks General Hospital, opened. The organization has developed into the 140-bed, state-of-the-art medical facility supporting a full range of medical and surgical services. They include: orthopedics, complete cardiovascular care, reconstructive surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, outpatient services, community health education and prevention. The emergency services department is one of the state's busiest with the increased summer population.
Credentialed by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, Lake Regional offers high-tech medical diagnostics and treatment, coupled with high-touch patient care. Nearly 1,000 employees support the medical expertise of 70-plus full-time medical staff. Routine reviews of services provide continual direction for the organization, reflecting just the right benefits for the evolving population.
