Crittenton is the Kansas City area's premiere provider of psychiatric care for children and their families. The main campus of Crittenton is located on a picturesque 156-acre site near Longview Lake in southeast Kansas City. On any given day, over 100 children and young people receive treatment in one of the therapeutic programs. Founded in 1896, Crittenton has evolved into comprehensive system of care that includes acute inpatient hospitalization, partial hospitalization, residential treatment, outpatient treatment, community-based services, and prevention services. Children can enter the system at any point and progress to their highest level of mental Health. A team of child and adolescent psychiatrists and other mental Health professionals allow the organization to treat all psychiatric and behavioral problems found in children. Crittenton Behavioral Health is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).

01/09 Coming to The Kansas City area Heart of America Shakespeare Festival Kansas City MO June18-July7 The Heart of America Shakespeare Festival is set under the stars in South Moreland Park near Nelson Atkins Museum of Art. It is a perfect way to spend a summer evening with family and friends. They have several programs to study and explore such as Speaker's Bureau and Poster and Sonnet Contest. The faculty includes theatre professionals, actors, and educators experienced in performing and teaching Shakespeare. Many of the instructors are veterans of festival productions.
