Located 10 miles northwest of Port Gibson, this was the site of the shelling of Confederate forts Cobun and Wade by Union ironclad gunboats. The 400-acre park, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, includes the forts, hiking trails, a cemetery, an observation tower and several restored buildings. A museum in the visitor center contains photographs, scale models and items commemorating local history.

Museum open daily; closed major holidays. Group rates available with prior reservations. Park open daily.
