This rustic park maintains its original look, featuring 1930s Civilian Conservation Corp constructed Legion Lodge (a Mississippi landmark). 5 rustic cabins, 2 fishing lakes, nature trail, picnic pavilion and tent camping are available. Location: 2 miles north of Louisville on North Columbus Avenue (Old Hwy 25). The fourth of the original state parks developed by the Civilian Conservation Corps, Legion State Park remains as unspoiled today as when the Choctaw Indian Nation first inhabited the area centuries ago. Hidden in the red hill country of Mississippi, Legion State Park strikes the perfect balance of natural beauty and modern comfort.
