The 66,000-acre Tombigbee National Forest in northeastern Mississippi offers campgrounds, swimming and fishing lakes and trails for biking, hiking and horseback riding. The Choctaw Lake Recreation Area has a 100-acre lake, campground, picnic area, two boat ramps, a wheelchair-accessible fishing pier and the three-mile Choctaw Lake Trail. Davis Lake, covering 200 acres, is the focal point of the Davis Lake Recreation Area, four miles from the Natchez Trace Parkway. Visitors can camp, fish, swim and water ski. The Tillatoba Recreation Area on the banks of 40-acre Tillatoba Lake offers a quiet alternative to larger campgrounds. Here visitors can camp, fish and boat.
