This state park is the site of one of the largest Indian Mound groups in the Mississippi Valley, and a restoration of what is believed to be the ceremonial site of the predecessors of the Choctaw and Chickasaw. The museum contains artifacts, jewelry, pottery, utensils and arts of the mound builders. Several mounds remain intact nearby, remnants of a culture that lived and farmed in the area around the year 1000.
Recreational opportunities at the site include picnicking. Open Wednesday through Sunday; closed major holidays.
